Sub-Genre's of thriller's

General Thriller
A genre of fiction that attempts to "thrill" its audience by placing characters at great risk. This constant unease throughout the story makes the narrative suspenseful to the reader by creating a tense atmosphere. Usually being mistaken as action, there is an easy way to tell the difference. Action films show the main character running towards the danger and the character in the thriller, running away from the danger.



Psychological Thriller
A Sub Genre of thriller that makes the characters exposed to danger on a mental level rather than a physical one. Characters are no longer reliant on physical strength to overcome their brutish enemies (which is often the case in typical action-thrillers), but rather are reliant on their mental resources, whether it be by battling wits with a formidable opponent or by battling for equilibrium in the character's own mind. This can be internal (the Actor's own mind is the wall to overcome) or External (another character causes others to have mental walls)
- Elements of drama and/or mystery
- Danger on a mental level, rather than physical
- Two or more characters preying on the minds of each other, to create conflict, or:
- One solitary character in mental conflict with their own mind
- Characters try and discover their own purpose
- Characters have a fear or fascination with death
- Narrative contains confusion of what is real or what isn't
- Non-linear editing, flashbacks, montages





Political Thriller
is a thriller that is set against the backdrop of political power struggle. They usually involve various plots, rarely legal, designed to give political power to someone, while his opponents try to stop him from getting it. They can involve national or international political scenarios.












Techno Thriller
a hybrid genre, drawing subject matter generally from spy thrillers , war novels , and science fiction. They include a disproportionate amount (relative to other genres) of technical detail on its subject matter (typically military technology)








Action Thriller

Action thriller is a genre which involves heavy action scenes which consists of either hand-to-hand combat or gun fights between people, this type of genre tends to amaze people with the action,
